What Services are Available at an Office For General Dentistry In Webster?

There’s a reason why 64.9% of adults have visited a dentist in the past year:1 Dentists play a crucial role in helping you maintain a clean and happy mouth, in turn leading to better overall health. Empire Dental Care, a general dentistry office in Webster, offers several services to help patients improve their smiles and oral health.

Services are Offered at a General Dentistry in Webster

A general dentistry office has a team of hygienists and dentists on staff to clean teeth, diagnose and treat oral health conditions, and improve the cosmetic appearance of teeth. Here is an overview of Empire Dental Care’s general dentistry services in Webster:

#1: Preventative Dental Care and Dental Cleaning

One of the essential aspects of oral health is preventive maintenance. Regular cleanings stop plaque and tartar from accumulating on the teeth, leading to gum disease, cavities, tooth decay, and other oral health conditions. Some preventative dental care practices available include routine hygiene cleanings, X-rays, and diagnostic tests to catch issues as early as possible.

#2: Cosmetic Dentistry

Whether it is for an injury to the mouth, gum disease, or the natural alignment of a patient’s teeth and gums, cosmetic dentistry is any dental procedure centered around improving the appearance of an individual’s teeth and smile. Empire Dental Care offers teeth whitening to remove years of coffee and wine stains, veneers to create your perfect smile, and natural composite fillings to address cavities without compromising aesthetic appeal.

#3: Inlay/Onlay Restoration and Fillings

With one in four adults between the ages of 20 and 64 currently struggling with a cavity or tooth decay,2 it’s essential to have many options available for repairing a problem tooth. Empire Dental Care specializes in both fillings and inlay or onlay restorations to restore oral health and function.

#4: Crowns & Implant Crowns

Patients with severe tooth decay, tooth damage, or periodontal disease may need tooth extractions to prevent the spread of infection. Whether a tooth is removed entirely or has a large filling that requires additional support, Empire Dental Care can apply crowns or artificial caps that cover the tooth to add strength and support. Crowns may be used to cap weakened teeth or on top of a dental implant, which is a permanent replacement of a missing tooth.

#5: Bridges

Bridges are one of the options for patients with multiple missing teeth in one area. A bridge comprises at least two artificial teeth and replaces the missing teeth to improve bite force, chewing ability, speech, and smile appearance.

#6: Dentures

Dentures offer those with missing teeth an affordable option for restoring their smile’s natural appearance and function. Empire Dental Care has expertise in fitting both complete dentures and partial dentures to help those who have lost teeth due to gum disease, injury to the mouth, or lifestyle choices like smoking and poor diet.

#7: Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease is a severe gum disease that damages the soft tissue around the teeth and, if left untreated, the underlying bone. If periodontal disease progresses, it can cause loose or misaligned teeth, a receding gum line, and bone erosion. Over time, it can also cause possible heart or lung disease. Empire Dental Care offers treatment options to stop gum disease through education, scaling and root planing, and antibiotics.

#8: Mouthguards For Teeth Grinding and Snoring Prevention

Custom mouthguards are a necessary treatment option for various oral health conditions. These conditions include bruxism, otherwise known as teeth grinding. Mouthguards help prevent teeth from damage via grinding and negate jaw and tooth pain. Using a mouthguard can also address snoring issues that you or a family member may have.
