Empire Dental Care - Dental Cavity Fillings In Webster Done Right

If you have a tooth that’s been damaged due to injury or decay, you may be looking online and find a wide variety of information. What do you really need to know about cavity fillings in Webster, and how can you find the right dentist for you?

Regular Checkups and Cleanings Are Key

When it comes to dental care, people often wait until they have a problem before seeking a dentist. Whether you’ve had a bad experience before or you’re just nervous about what a dental visit would entail, you may have put regular checkups and cleaning of your teeth on the backburner of priority.

The problem, though, is that good oral hygiene and dental care are more important to your overall health than you may realize [1], and you may only find you have a problem or a cavity when it starts to hurt.

That’s why the experienced team at Empire Dental Care works to make sure your dental experience is one you’ll always feel comfortable with. Led by Dr. Tehila Cohen, we strive to ensure that you always have a caring, gentle touch in each of your cleanings and checkups. Regular checkups and dental cleanings you look forward to will also mean we’ll be able to find possible issues before they begin to hurt.

Cavity Fillings In Webster: What Can You Expect?

At its basic level, a cavity is a hole or crack in your tooth. This can stem from damage to your tooth or just general decay over time. If you’re not seeing a dentist for regular checkups or cleanings, you may discover a cavity because you feel pain when you bite or chew or when hot or cold substances touch the tooth. That’s when you’ll want to let us use our expertise and our compassionate hand to remove the decay and repair your tooth.

There are several different types of cavity restorations, including filling them and restoring them with inlay and onlay restorations. Many dentists utilize amalgam for cavity fillings because they’re relatively inexpensive and fairly durable. They’re also often noticeable when you open your mouth because of their dark color, so Empire Dental Care utilizes composite resin when filling cavities. Composite resins match your teeth’s natural appearance more and are quite durable as well, provided the cavity is relatively small.

For larger cavities or teeth that are more obvious when you smile or open your mouth, we often recommend inlays or onlays, which are porcelain. Filling cavities in Webster with porcelain will mean the material is created to match your individual tooth color and will resist staining over many years.

Dr. Cohen and her team are experienced in all methods of filling cavities in Webster. They will give you a personalized treatment plan with her best recommendations for your specific need.
